Trying to fill pre-orders is a messy game and can lead to disappointment. It has always been a tremendous amount of stress for us. We are not a large scale hatchery. In 2025 we will only be taking pre-orders on small packages (ie rainbow, all blue, ameraucanas, fancy, homesteader etc). Our packages will range from 3-12 chicks and typically be our choice. You will have to trust us to pick beautiful birds for you! If you are looking for something specific, you can reach out directly to see what is hatching. Specific breeds are sold first come, first served. March to October and set a couple hundred at a time so there is plenty of inventory to pick from. We will keep updating on our FB page as soon as chicks are regularly hatching. Feel free to reach out directly for a current inventory as well.
Yes, twice a year we have a pullet sale which includes chicks/pullets from 6-20weeks. Typically this is in June and again in October. Occasionally, at the fall sale, we offer adult hens after we select our breeding stock for the next season. We post about it on our FB page.
Absolutely! Availability is determined by the hens and what we are setting ourselves. Please email us and let us know what you are looking for.

The Marans breed originated in France, in marshy areas close to the Atlantic coast. The breed is named after the historic port town of Marans.
We love those beautiful chocolate eggs! Note that a flat brown dark chocolate is NOT correct and sometimes that can even indicate some photo editing. The true egg color should be a dark, deep rich

What does BBS mean? Blue, Black and Splash. This means out of this pen our chicks are a variety of pure colors. This pen mostly hatches Blue or Black chicks with the occasional Splash chick. All are bearded.
We just love all things Chococolate. And this pen is a mix of both Chocolate and Khaki (also known as mauve). The beauty is that it is a sex-linked pen meaning we can sex the chicks right at hatch. This is a big win since DNA testing is so expensive!
We just love the paint gene and how adorable these little Dalmatian silkies are! This pen does have one Frizzle in it so we might hatch a few frizzle paints!
Who doesnt love the cool and unusual? Showgirls are the "so weird they are cute" fluff ball we all love. This is a chocolate colored pen but NOT sexlinked.
Ole Yankee Farm was one of the first USA breeders of the Bobtail Cochins having direct Pekin imports back in 2015. Fertility was low and we ended up disbanding the flock and moving on to other projects. We recently had the option to buy stock from our old lines and another breeder who has been working with them for a few year. We look forward to giving them another go! I mean look at them!
If you are going to have Turkeys, make them really great ones! So many people have admired out great Tom named Gus. Like our other types of poultry, we have worked hard to perfect this variety of Turkey. They are excellent mothers, easy going, and they make great pets or dinner!
